Yoga for children has become a lot more popular over the past few years. It is the perfect activity for kids to begin when they are still very young and you can find many advantages to using it with your child. One of the greatest advantages is that children can actually learn some of the fundamentals of yoga, but if you’re not comfortable with it, you can always hire someone to do it for you.
While doing the best yoga for children, make sure you include lots of good yoga stretches for your child. While you want to learn as much as you can about yoga, you also want to get your child in the habit of doing yoga stretches on a regular basis so that it becomes a natural part of their daily routine.
A good warm-water exercise is to take your child out in the garden and just sit and let them get a great stretch from stretching as they are sitting down. You can use their toes, arms, neck, legs, hands, and even their faces as a stretch. You can start to get a feel for what a stretch feels like while sitting down and then try to do them standing up and you’ll find they are more difficult to do that way.
Another great twist on yoga is to get them to stand in the garden with you while you sit down on a lawn chair. You can do lots of simple yoga stretches while they are standing. They will get used to getting in and out of their cars, moving around their rooms, going to the park, even playing at the mall while they are standing in the garden.
Yoga: Do Some Stretches
Before you begin doing the yoga stretches, you should sit down with your child and get them warmed up before you begin to teach them some good yoga poses. You can use them in their favorite yoga positions to help them get used to the positions in which they’ll be sitting in during yoga. For example, you can do the asana (posture) poses while your child is in the chair and then get them to sit down on a flower bed or something else in the garden.
You can get started in teaching your child yoga stretches by lying down in the flower bed. If your child is a boy, sit them on your lap or place them on the floor beside you. Your child can become quite excited while learning this new position and it will be a great way to teach them the basic yoga poses while you are both lying down.
Next, you will have to lie down and then stretch forward and back. This exercise will put your child into a position to stretch and get in a good stretch.
Do Some Twist
Now you will want to perform the twists and get them to lie down on the grass and then you will need to go through the twists. When they are lying down, you can get them to focus on the different parts of their body. You can get them to focus on the soles of their feet, the backs of their legs, or anywhere on their body, they want to focus on.
Start out by lying down on your back with your knees bent and then you can move your legs together and then you can stretch forward and back while focusing on your lower back and knees. When you lie down next, you can see that you have more to focus on as your child gets into the range of your legs.
Where To Focus?
As you lie down next, you can start to stretch forward, and then you can look up and focus on your arms and legs. You can then stretch across your body, feeling the arms and legs on the other side of you. After you get through this stretch, you can move on to the next stage and do the rotation as you roll across your body.
At this point, you can focus on your front foot. As you focus on the front foot, you can feel the stretch on your ankles and hips, and then you can feel your legs go through the yoga twists.
As you practice these yoga stretches, your child will be much more relaxed and at ease. You should try to start the stretches as soon as you can so that your child can use them as soon as possible. By teaching your child these simple yoga stretches, they will be able to use them every day.
